Halloween 2009

Here are some pictures from Halloween 2009. First is a picture of my new internal crank ghost. An old reindeer motor moves the arms and head, and a wiper motor raises and lowers the entire ghost. Gives a nice random affect. Video of the ghost in action is here
Next is my Leer Ghost. An automobile mirror motor raises and lowers the head and arms, making it appear to leer down at trick-or-treaters standing at my front door. I will be build a new one for next year, there are several improvements that can be made, but this is not bad for a first try. I plan on posting a how to when I build the next one. Video is here

This is a picture of the house where you can see all the ghosts.

  1. I just adore your set up, it is so effective. That second picture just creeps me out.. the ghost over the door, the very subtle red lighting gives so much depth, and makes the TOT feel like he is just completely surrounded. Amazing work.

  2. Thanks! I plan on redpong the leer ghost and posting a how-to, hope you enjoy.

  3. Hey, just wondering what kind of black lights do you use, and where do u place them in your yard to get such a good lighting effect, love the display!

  4. I have 6 small 13" to 18" black lights mounted on the inside of the cross beam along the from of the porch, these light up the porch nicely. I also have a couple of 4' black lights to highlight the ghosts that are not on the porch. I tend to add a light or 2 each year.
